Recently I’ve been experiencing many life difficulties, and it makes me question my ability to continue giving all of myself to Cultivate when life pulls me in so many directions. I ask myself if I should quit when things get too hard. But I haven’t quit yet, so I guess the answer is no. But the temptation still exists.
I tell myself that life would be so much easier if I were to just get a “normal” job, where I show up each day, so something that earns me a living, and when my time is done, I get to go home and not think about my job until the next day. Yes, that kind of life would be way easier, but so much less fulfilling and meaningful. I absolutely love what I do, and even during the hardest times, I know I can’t turn my back on the work that I have started. I know that someday its going to be different – more successful, more impactful, more sustainable. So I have to hang on until that point, and stay faithful even despite the ups and downs.
Isn’t this what life is all about anyways? Life isn’t pretty. Its hard, its easy, its painful, its joyful, its adventurous, and its commonplace. We all experience the rollercoaster, and though some people choose to get off, those of us who stay on for the ride always are thankful that we did in the end.
So despite the hard things that I’ve been facing lately, I’m fighting until the end. I’m giving my all to all in my life – to Cultivate, to my relationships, to my commitments, to my dreams.
If you’re walking on a similar road, hang in there. Don’t give up. Fight the good fight. When you wake up in the morning and all you want to do is stay in bed, take a deep breath, picture someone you want to get out of bed for, and get out. Don’t let the inner arguments in your head win. If its hard to see the good amidst all the bad, fight to find at least one good thing and focus on that. I guarantee you that there’s at least one good thing in your life right now. Be thankful for it, focus on it, and move forward. You can do it, and so can I.
